Homeopathy is a system of natural medicine which was developed by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician, in the late 1700's. It is based on the principle of "like cures like". Like a vaccine using a similar agent to stimulate the immune response, homeopathic medicines stimulate the body's healing response by activating the body's vital energy (also known as "chi" or "prana" in eastern terminology) by using precisely prescribed homeopathic medicines. These medicines consist of tiny amounts of plant, mineral, and animal substances, which, if given in large amounts, would produce the symptoms they are given as medicines to cure. For example, the homeopathic medicine coffea, made from the coffee bean, is given to treat insomnia which is accompanied by jittery nerves and a racing mind.
Mental, emotional, and physical symptoms are all considered in the prescription of a homeopathic medicine. Temperament, food preferences or aversions, sensitivities to weather, temperature and motion, thought patterns, moods, hobbies--the entire spectrum of physical, emotional, and mental experience is taken into account in the selection of the appropriate medicine. It is in determining these unique qualities of your individual life force that allows us to stimulate it with the specific homeopathic medicine in just the right way to generate a healing response.
